Jemma Wayne graduated from Cambridge University in 2002 with an academic scholarship for her achievements in Social and Political Sciences. She went on to gain a Distinction in a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism at the University of Westminster before working as a reporter for The Jewish Chronicle.
In 2004, Jemma decided to take the plunge as a full time writer and a year later saw the publication of her first full-length work, Bare Necessities. Published by Piatkus Books, Bare Necessities is a witty, light-hearted, anecdotal A Level in life for young home-leavers. Jemma is now focussing on fiction and has recently completed her first novel.
She also continues to contribute to various publications as a freelance journalist. In particular she has written for The Evening Standard and the Independent on Sunday, and with a special interest in cross-cultural themes writes a monthly political column for The Jewish News.
Over the years, Jemma has also worked in television and radio, and continues to explore these and other mediums. Most recently she has completed a screenplay that is in early development, and co-written NEGATIVE SPACE, a stage play showing at The New End Theatre, Hampstead, from September 15th to October 11th 2009.
